Make Your Goals More Reachable by Making them HARDer

Setting goals can be a great motivator for achieving your dreams - or demotivating when you fail to achieve them.

Sometimes, though, we fail because they are just not inspiring enough.

HARD is an acronym devised by Mark Murphy to supercharge your goals.

It means your goals must be:

Heartfelt

Your care factor is relative to the goals you can achieve. The more you care the more ‘intrinsic’ motivation you’ll have - and the greater the impetus to achieve.

Animated

Dreaming of a brighter future inspires us to new ways of thinking and being. The act of visualising and mapping out possibilities means you know what you are looking for and can plot the journey to your destination.

Required

If you are following a heartfelt passion the goal will feel as if it is a requirement rather than an option.

Difficult

An enticing goal will stretch your skills, knowledge, and talents. The difficulty will bring with it a sense of achievement.

What difficult goal have you set recently that you’ve achieved?
