5 Tips to Avoid Claims of Unfairness from Your Onsite Staff
In a recent blog, I talked about making flexible work available to everyone - even people who need to report to a physical location (like a warehouse office or construction site).
Here’s five ways to make that happen – and avoid charges of unfairness:
1. Schedule: Allowing people to vary their schedules to meet their daily, weekly, or monthly needs is a great way to provide flexibility.
2. Place: By enabling people to work from any location, you can provide flexibility without having to change office hours.
3. Continuity: Allowing people to take time off (like long periods of leave) without losing their jobs can help them meet personal demands (such as caring for a parent).
4. Workload: Offering a reduced work schedule in exchange for a commensurate pay cut can be a great way to provide flexibility.
5. Job-sharing: Has been around for a while and is an effective way to split the job to allow greater flexibility to your people.
What unique ways have you or your organisation found to meet the demands for flexible work?
